We present you a list of the most common computer connectors, and as a bonus we’ll mention a few HiFI related connectors.
This list will be occasionaly updated, and for now here is the list sorted alphabetically in the following form:
- name,
- link, to see further info, connector variations, etc.
- picture of the connector (female connector or ports might be included).

8P8C connector or Ethernet connector (incorrectly refered to as RJ45; confusion):

ATX connectors (from left to right: 20-pin ATX motherboard connector, 4-pin CPU connector, fan header connector, SATA HDD power connector, Molex power connectors for HDD and optical drives, floppy power connector):

D-subminiature connectors (D-Sub) ; below is DE-9 connector commonly used for serial port; a DB-25 connector is often used for a parallel port (or printer port):

SAS connector (Serial Attached SCSI); below is SFF 8484:
SATA data connector (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment)
SCART connector (Syndicat des Constructeurs d’Appareils Radiorécepteurs et Téléviseurs); other names: Péritel, 21-pin EuroSCART, Euroconector, EuroAV or EIA Multiport:
SCSI connector (Small Computer System Interface)
SMA connector (SubMiniature version A)
Toslink connector (used with S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface)); below is: TOSLINK connector (JIS F05)
USB connector (Universal Serial Bus)
VGA connector (Video Graphics Array)
